Dec. 27th, 2020 08:55 amWatched Greenland the other day.I do loves me a good disaster movie. Not the worst movie I’ve ever seen but not the best either(why are people outside when they know there’s a chance that they will get killed by a piece of comet?) How to describe Greenland?It’s like Melancholia and 2012 had a baby.Except not crap(mostly..)
Of course Gerard Butler’s family in the movie are there because his character is a structural engineer and they’re going to need those to rebuild what’s left(if anything..in the end it seems like there were plenty of people who were able to get to ground before the biggest fragment of the comet hit the earth.They stay in the bunkers for 6 months and when they’re allowed to go outside it looks different but there are birds(they were able to get to safety apparently..)
(BTW Gerard Butler finds out that he has been selected for the bunker in front of a get together with his neighbours who are like “why weren’t *we* chosen?”(and they try to send some of their kids with them which doesn’t happen because it’s only their family that are going to the bunker.)
*For Christmas my brother got me a turntable!I have been going down the rabbit hole of trying to find some of the old vinyl that I had back in the day(at one point there was a crate of vinyl that I had when I was in a kid in my parents’ garage.Not sure if it is still day and what kind of shape it is in(I didn’t take very good care of my vinyl-I didn’t think that vinyl was going to be cool again! I’ll do a follow up post if I find them(not easy since my dad has a lot of stuff in the garage and it’s going to take a lot of looking to find them(if they’re even there that is.) Not going to get a lot of vinyl but I do have some on my Amazon wish list.)
