[Drama is light on the ground this week]

There is plenty there for people to like-some older touches but not so much as to try and drag HAL back into the 19th century.IMO HAL ships, moving forward,NEED that. They don’t need the fusty musty look that HAL ships had for so long.That is doing HAL no favours if they do not want to be perceived as being a floating old folks’ home(in spite of the fact that there are plenty of families on HAL ships).That was one of the things that got people so upset when they saw the renderings of the Koningsdam. LOVE the K and am glad that I got to go on a cruise on her. If that is what HAL ships are going to look like from now on then good.Hopefully when those ships get older(K is only a few years old) they won’t let what happened with the older ships(which are all being sold now and some of which are almost 30 years old-are 30 years old-and defer maintenance on them to the point where people go on the HAL boards and complain about all of the problems that they had on their cruise(non-working a/c, toilets, etc.)
Why are some so hung up on the “HAL of the past”? I have never understood it.If HAL wants to remain relevant-and I have said this so many times before as have people on the HAL boards-they have to modernise and not stay,well, stuck in the 19th century. That is the least of HAL’s problems right now but it is something-along with a sense of outmodedness -that HAL needs to get away from.And I think they’re trying. One of the things that they can definitely do is have someone who is reading posts on the HAL boards and seeing the comments that are being made.Pretty sure they do this already so it’s a bit of a moot point.Also not helping:The suggestion to spam HAL HQ with emails and snail mail whenever they are not happy about something.They like to think that they have won their battles because they did this.No they didn’t. This is just going to get you on HAL’s shit list(and said list has a LOT of people who post on the HAL boards . They think they’re anonymous but they’re not.Every whinge is duly noted. Pro life Prick Priest? Hurt Hands?Portly Princess?Make no mistake, their dossiers at HAL HQ are lengthy(and being added to all the time.)
