Nov. 12th, 2020 04:30 pmJust discovered that one of my very best online friends blocked me on Twitter.This is very strange since she still follows me on Facebook.I messaged her to ask her what is going on but so far, nothing. I can’t think of what O might have said that upset her but I honestly don’t see anything on Twitter that would have warranted it.
The odd thing is that she and I bonded over the fandom troll.Well, our dislike of her, that is. That’s what makes this so weird.We’d shit talk the fandom troll and we were someone the other could go to whenever the troll went on one of her rampages(which, in the past,were quite frequent .The fandom troll has calmed TF down but that’s a post for another day..)
I’m used to being blocked-I have even been blocked by people that I have never even interacted with.At this point I’m used to it. Being unfollowed or blocked..I guess people just get tired of seeing what I have to say.And I think some of it is people who aren’t really in the fandom.There are certainly people who have left the fandom. But it’s not the HUGE amount that some have made it out to be. Put it this way:with some of the drama that happens occasionally,I’m not surprised that there are a fair amount of people that have left the fandom. I would never say that I approve of the drama that goes on(because it IS bullshit drama 100%) but there are people who get worn down by it. Your mental health gets affected(this isn’t just a fandom thing BTW) and not everyone is so understanding. Taking a break from Twitter, etc. is perfectly OK. If she actually does respond to my message I will post a follow-up post in a few days.
