Thursday, 13 August 2020 09:10Traditional Catholics are a thing that mystifies me(that’s putting it mildly).
Taylor Marshall is the biggest..offender isn’t quite the right word but it fits.
He’s very..particular.He thinks babies should be baptised as soon as possible.IMO that is nitpicking.I was not baptised until I was quite old-6 months or so but in my parents’ defense there were a lot of things going on-we moved not long after my parents adopted me so they had other things to worry about -they now had 3 kids!
Their hatred of Pope Francis knows few bounds-Marshall and his ilk think that Pope Benedict the 16th is still Pope. Uh..he hasn’t been Pope since February of 2013 and Pope Francis was elected on March 13th 2013. I make no secret of the fact that I love Pope Francis.He’s a reformer like Pope John Paul II was a reformer(and is still well loved..) He is a person you could just sit and hang out with . Trying to picture myself shooting the breeze with Pope Francis! “Sup your Holiness!”
Marshall posted a clickbait-y video about Pope Benedict being very sick and/or dying. First of all, he’s NOT Pope anymore.He’s just Joseph Ratzinger again.The way Traditional Catholics act like he is still Pope and do not acknowledge Pope Francis..SMH.
Last but not least: His issue with communion in the hand .Right now, because of things going on in the world( *cough* Rona*cough* it’s a better idea than communion on the tongue. I would MUCH rather take communion in the hand-I’ve taken communion in the hand for a while and it’s what I’m used to.It used to always be that. Communion on the tongue used to be the norm but through the years that’s changed.Vatican II has everything to do with that.
Were the complaints about Vatican II when it first started? Oh yeah. In the last few years there has been an upswell in Traditional Catholics.Mind you, they’re still a minority and most Traditional Catholic parishes are out of the way-it’s not unheard of for families to drive an hour or more to go to a Traditional Catholic Mass. Add to that, Catholic Churches,in Marshall’s opinion, are more Protestant looking than Catholic.
He’d hate the church I grew up going to Mass at-it’s very modern looking-the Stations Of The Cross are outside for one thing. They recently remodeled it and it’s even more modern now!
