[Like a time capsule I guess?]
Jul. 10th, 2020 09:31 amRomancing The Stone was on TV last night. As you know, if you’ve been reading this blog for any amount of time, that was the movie I went to on the day that I went to my first concert in 1984(went to the movie earlier in the day and bailed on my then-boyfriend because I wasn’t sure if I was going to the concert or not but I wanted to be back home in plenty of time in any case..)
Turns out it was a good thing I got back early. The boyfriend was not happy(I distinctly remember him saying that I preferred those( excuse my language it was 30 plus years ago) “f**s” to him. Eh I should not have been all that surprised. He was a macho asshole who I broke up with a while later.
Anyways, whenever I see Romancing The Stone is on TV it takes me back to that day instantly.I’ve watched bits and pieces of it whenever it’s on.It definitely looks like a movie that was made in the 80’s. There was a sequel, Jewel Of The Nile, which I also saw(I think it came out a year or two later?) but remember nothing about. It’s also one of only two reference points I had for Colombia(the other is Narcos. Big surprise there.)
