[Easter-ish]
Apr. 5th, 2020 11:05 amWeird for it to be Palm Sunday and not go to Mass.Same with Easter. Pope Francis did a speech from an empty St. Peter’s Square. Having been to St. Peter’s(twice!) it really is eerie to see St. Peter’s empty of people.I’ll talk about this in another post but no salespeople!
It’s weird to have holidays where we can’t all be together. Not just Easter, but Passover too.
In any case Pope Francis made 5 points which I thought were worth commenting on.My comments in parentheses.
1)We are in the same boat.
2)Our facades have fallen away.
3)We do not stop/are united.
(This is true. Some of the stories that have come out because of the beer virus are amazing.)
4)The time of our judgement
(There is a fire breathing priest on YouTube that says what is going on right now is a judgement.Yeah, OK)
5)A time of choosing-what matters and what falls away
(What’s interesting here is that when he was elected his motto was “Mercy and choosing.” Believe me, the significance of that is not lost on me.)
