[RTBTCKI:(Happily)living in a vacuum]
Monday, 10 February 2020 08:29The Oscars were last night and I didn’t watch.I did find out who won what after everything was over and done. There was a little bit of controversy over a few wins but not to the extent that you would think. And of course they missed several people in the “In memoriam” segment. You know they got the people who died not that long ago, but they missed Luke Perry, for instance.
Speaking of awards ceremonies(in a round about sort of way) the Westminster Kennel show is on tonight and tomorrow.Won’t be able to watch live but they’re on YouTube later on.
The reason I mention that is that there are always people who are upset no matter what breed wins.”(Insert name of dog”) didn’t win, accusations of “this is rigged”. If so, the “Popular” breeds would win every year. But they don’t. Do I wish that, say, the Basset Hound or the French Bulldog would win?Sure, but this is not based on popularity. It’s based on the dog’s merits. That is what the judges are looking for when they make one dog best of breed in each category and then in Best In Show.
