Dec. 21st, 2019 04:43 pmI only had $5 of the money I needed to pay my bill at Fat Joe’s which is a place within walking distance of my house. The owners seemed a bit pissed off that I didn’t have all the money but it happens just told me to bring the rest of the money tomorrow.
But I haven’t and I’m not going to and if that means that I never go there again I guess that’s OK with me:
First off, the food is great but nothing earthshaking.
Second, the service is so-so and the owner can be kinda mean.
I can live without going there ever again..when I have boycotted restaraunts before(with one exception) they have gone out of buisness later. Will be curious to see if this is the case with Fat Joe’s.OTOH their prices, compared to other places in Oceanside, are *cheap* and the owner wanted it that way.
However, half-assed service will only get you so far.Not only that there is a LOT of competition in the area-the places that are successful and have been around for a while might surprise you, where other places come in that are new and novel are gone within a year or two. Also, it’s all about where you are. The coffee place right next door to the gas station has been several different places and none of them have lasted very long.A similar situation there with Fat Joe’s..I had a bad experience and vowed never to go there ever again and it was gone after a while.
How you treat your customers speaks volumes. It’s not just restaraunts either.I have had a few experiences at nail salons-not last time but the time before the lady who did my nails wanted a tip that was almost as much as I paid to have my nails done.OK girl..you’re good, but you’re not *that* good,*and* you try to get that big of a tip because you’re in a nicer neighbourhood. What I just described though, that is highway robbery, full stop.
