[AHS is BACK!!]
Sep. 22nd, 2019 01:36 pmI am starting to get excited about new American Horror Story seasons..I was one of those weird people who liked the Apocalypse season-I know it was divisive among AHS fans. The new season just started and I am here for it.
But a few things first:
This season takes place in 1984 and is a pastiche of movies like Friday The 13th.
I was 13 in 1984 so this is so in my wheelhouse it is not even funny.One of the first things they mention is The Night Stalker.I remember when he was doing his killings and one night when it was happening begging my parents NOT to go out late(I forget why they were going out-I was freaked out, in any case)
Also(and we’ll see because there always has to be some sort of twist when Ryan Murphy is involved) takes places during the opening ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics.I remember what a big deal that was.
The clothes and the music too is spot on.And the hair.The bigger the hair the closer you are to god as they say in Texas.lol.
Several of the regulars are absent(Sarah Paulson who was so great in Apocalypse and Evan Peters, but the usuals you expect(Billie Lourd and Cody Fern, who after last season will *always* be the Antichrist.) Only one episode in and we have already had several reference to 80’s horror movies. As I said earlier,I do think there will be a twist.
