[Yep.Blog housekeeping.]

*I will be blogging whilst I am out of town.

*There is not much going on at Cruise Critic so *those* posts are going to the wayside-unless there is some especially dramatic drama(redundant statement?).

*Catholicism /Religion/Batshit will be making *occasional* appearances.There is mostly chill about Pope Leo the 14th. He’s making lots of friends-he reminds me a lot of Pope Francis in that way-it didn’t take long to see people saying “I’m not Catholic but I like Pope Leo the 14th.”

*Fandom troll has more or less gone radio silent.It’s interesting to see her talking about her interests-horror movies.Her voice is so grating .For a while she was n using an AI voice for her vlogs,Maybe she should have stuck with that.

*Going to start using some of my lesser-used tags ands also(if I like the questions) the Friday Five-and actually on Friday, too!

*Before (and during) the August trip I will be blogging.However, if the internet(especially on the ship) is not the best, then I might miss days(this happened the last cruise we went on-well, you *are* on a ship in the middle of the ocean.) Can you believe that it has been over 6 years since the last cruise?True!

[I’m going back to the start*]

I’ve been on Dreamwidth for 6 years now and I am not going anywhere.

There are a lot of things that I love about Dreamwidth.In the past there were issues(Vox comes right to mind.)

So what do I want this blog to continue to be?

Sometimes I think about making the blog one thing and then I realise that what I want is a little of everything(and that’s been every blog that I’ve had, Dreamidth or otherwise.)Am I snarky?Oh god yes and that is reflected in a few of the things that I talk about with some frequency(like Cruise Critic.) There’s that, and then there is also the pop culture stuff which is what makes up a LOT of what this blog is.I don’t see that going anywhere anytime soon,as I said before. I hardly ever miss a day and if I do there is a good reason for it!(also for the most part I post in the mornings whilst I am drinking one of several cups of coffee-yes that is the “coffee” part of RTBTCKI!)

I’ve been online since 1998 -to say that it has been interesting.

As I said before, I have a LOT of opinions and -some of them unpopular.-and I have made a lot of enemies .However some of the enemies became friends.

[This was never going to be a politics blog]

However there IS a politics tag. Now that we are in then home stretch there may be a few more posts(and of course when everything is said and done I will post something.Of course I will.)

But this blog(as all of my blogs have been) are a melange of many different things-I want it to feel like you’re sitting there talking to me. I have opinions, oh yes I do. I do not sugarcoat things.Never have done.However I DO like my pop culture and that is a big focus of this blog.

[Been a hot minute since I did a blog housekeeping post]

Things have been on the quiet side on a lot of fronts(TM and Cruise Critic though I have both of those coming up soon).But there might be a lull.

Other things will take precedence and that is a good thing.I have been doing the Friday Five(though it’s on Saturday or Sunday !)

If you can believe it I have a list of topics that I want to blog about that is going to take me into May(and we’re already well into April.)

[3 years!]

Today is my third blogiversary..does not seem like I have had this blog that long but..I have!

Dreamwidth has been a good fit for me..none of the funny buisness that was going on with other blogging platforms(I loved Vox..long gone, and missed..but after Obama was elected the trolls came in and were going after anyone who voted for him and was sympathetic to him.There was only so much you could do to screen the comments on blog entries and they would get in there anyways. I can’t remember what led to the end of Vox but I’m sure that that had a lot to do with it.Shame, because they had a lot of great layouts for their blogs that were free(unlike with L*ve*o*r*a* where you have to pay.)

[Doing some tidying]

Went through and got rid of some tags that I don’t use and added a few. I am going to start using the new tags(you may have noticed at least one new topic.)

Things are pretty much the same otherwise though. I aim to have a little from column a, b, etc. No rebranding here(I know that’s a common thing to just switch the focus of your blog and no hate for that but I have no desire to be a influencer.)

[Blog housekeeping:Been a while! :)]

The Cruise Critic posts have gone back to Friday-still only one post a week but it’s a lot of the same things-by that I mean ‘Rona and its effect on being able to cruise.But that’s a post for Friday!

One thing that has helped is having a running list of topics that I want to talk about (though if there is breaking news that’s gonna change!)

There again there are some topics that have been on the list for a while.Last year there was a topic about 1971(the year I was born)but that never happened!

[Trying something new]

So I have a tendency when i try to have a schedule for blogging I wind up wasting paper-I cross of a couple of items and then add things to the list but then I start another list because I’m like that I wind up wasting a lot of paper.

Accordingly I wanted to find a solution and I found one:Peel and stick whiteboard sheets! I bought two packets.

My setup is on the closet door in my office/library. As I go through the list i cross items off(and add them when I think of something that I want to blog about.)

1)I have been reading a lot so the book updates are going to be more frequent(I hope..)

2)There’s more going on at Cruise Critic so there will be weekly updates; that being said, for now there will only be one post per week. But the things that I’ve been seeing on there are blog-worthy.

[Haven’t done a housekeeping post in a while]

Cruise Critic posts will be Friday and Saturday-and occasionally on other days if there is a special occasion. For a while it was on Monday because I had so much to talk about. There is still a lot going on but there aren’t certain things(like sail aways) going on and those are always a source for drama.

Gonna try and post what I’ve been reading every month.

Crazy mom is..crazying. As is the fandom troll(and I have a post about her tomorrow but I’m reconsidering because that is changing with the hour. Literally. It is insane and I thought her harassing the shit out of the Hannibal fandom was insane! This ain’t got shit on that!

So I have a HUGE dilemma y’all. Usually I have enough content to do at least one Cruise Critic post a week. But there has been a lot of drama at Cruise Critic, specifically on the HAL boards.

HAL got a new CEO last week, so there is some of that.And I’ll get into that Monday, but I had a bunch of stuff ready for this week and then all of the drama happened. I’m leaning towards just having two days worth of posts so that I don’t get behind.

There is a possible Crazy Mom update-that she had the baby a bit ago.I’m waiting for confirmation and more info on how she had the baby(pretty sure she had to have a c section) and if she is going to get this kid taken away.

AND...my Cruise Critic post on Monday is going to be epic.I’ll just tease you with that. There have been some interesting developments, NONE of them having to do with ‘Rona.

Updated blogging schedule and the biggest change is..

Cruise Critic is moving to Mondays! There has been enough going on that I feel like I need to do it at the start of the week.

Also,I’m starting doing a weekly schedule(pending anything going on that I want to talk about) as well as having a master list of topics.
